How it all started........

Hi, I’m Helen Sarah Thurlwell the founder of Helen Sarah Pictures, producing stunning Wedding, Studio, event and corporate Photography with a creative, unique and breathtaking twist. . I began working in the Photography Industry around 5 years ago as an event Photographer, while also studying Photography full time. Since then I have worked as a Photo Editor and printing specialist.  I decided to start Helen Sarah Pictures with an aim to providing people with images that were contemporary and fun and at good value for money. I had heard so many stories of people going to Photographers after 'winning' a free Photo shoot, only to be persuaded by pushy sales reps to part with, in some cases thousands!  I really dislike this approach and see it as dishonest and misleading.  I always tell people the price first! Prior to working as a Photographer I worked in a structural design department.  I grew up in Cold Ash, where I still live.  In my spare time I like horse riding, shopping, running and the obvious one- Photography.

I am bubbly and happy, I love people and I love Photography (especially Weddings!) so I really love my job.  I get on with everyone and always work my socks off to ensure I do a great job.That is why my customers come back to me again and again.  In fact many of them I also know personally now, through working for them and their families.

Why choose me to do your Wedding Photography?

I have a lot of experience and have never done a Wedding where a customer has not been delighted with the results.  This is down to meticulous planning and also a lot of hard work!  

For what I offer my rates are outstanding, starting from £600.

The Wedding photos are the one thing that you have left after the day has come to an end.  By hiring an experienced Wedding photographer you can ensure the memory of your Wedding day will never fade.  The storybook Wedding albums show the day from getting ready in the morning at the brides house right through to the first dance.  The style is relaxed informal and unobtrusive.  Formal shots after the ceremony are generally undertaken, it is your day so whatever you ask for I can do for you.

To see an example of a shortened  storybook Wedding album go to the Wedding Section of helensarah.com and click on the example storybook link.  This Wedding was at the Newbury Manor Hotel in Newbury Berkshire.  All my storybook albums have each page designed individually, each one a creative piece of artwork.  Most photographers will just drag and drop the images into a template, but I believe that spending an extra week doing this gives the book a real wow factor.  I have photographed Weddings at a host of venues across Berkshire including The Donnington Valley Hotel in Donnigton, Shaw House Registry Office in Shaw, St Marys Church in Kintbury, The Church of St Mathew in Midgam, St Peter's Church in Brimpton to name just a small selection. Why choose me to do your Studio Photography?

I have worked doing family portrait photography, models portfolios, children's portfolios and body builder portfolios to name just a few example of the work I undertake. My studio equipment is completely portable and I can travel anywhere in the Berkshire area to do bookings.  I have photographed Gemma Atkinson who played Lisa in Hollyoaks, Matt Lewis who played Neville Longbottom in Harry potter and a leading men's magazines girl of the year.  To see examples of my studio work you can visit the Studio section of the website.
