Chris and Angela's Garden Wedding

Angela and Chris found me as I photographed their friends wedding a few years before and came to me with quite an unusual plan for the wedding day.  The wedding was in a marquee in the garden and we took most of the photos in a field by the house.  Perfect for a rustic vintage feel to the pictures!

We started the day with Angela getting ready in a nearby hotel.  As I snapped away the rain came down outside, the ceremony was originally going to be taking place in the woodland near the house, the boys spent the morning running back and forth into the marque with hay bales, so the show could go on :)

Angela has the most vibrant blue eyes! A photographers dream for photos.  Also hair and make up did an amazing job, Angela's hair looked like something off a fairytale and her makeup was flawless.

Angela's finished look just before the dress went on :) Then we all made a move to the marquee, everyone was in there laughing and enjoying themselves while we waited for Angela to make her entrance.

The ceremony was lovely, as the 'legal' bit had already been done a few days before, the ceremony was a more a reflection on what Angela and Chris meant to each other.

After the ceremony we took some photos of the beautiful details that were around the room.  I loved the place setting tags and the table plan was beautiful and unique. The cake was a naked cake, Angela made the whole thing herself and it looked so professional!

The rain began to die down and we went to the field around the corner from Angelas house to take some photos.  I love it that the grass was so long and unkempt, it was perfect to create a really rustic look to the images.  The boys also should get a special mention for carrying this hay bale for ten minutes so Angla and Chris could have this photo. It weighed a ton!

The meadow flowers in this picture of Angela with her bridesmaids are so pretty, it is so nice to have some less posed 'formal' pictures.

Angela had brought these large round balloons for photos and they worked so well! The back of the dress was such a lovely feature I had to capture it in a photo.

Angela and Chris wanted quite an informal feel to the day and the atmosphere all day was relaxed and fun.

Later on in the evening we walked into the woods where the ceremony would have happened so Angela could have a couple of photos there. As the light was getting lower behind the trees it was perfect for a more moody portrait.

Then it was time for the first dance and everyone was on the dance floor straight away after, as it should be!  Thank you to Chris and Angela for letting me be a part of your day. Please feel free to share or leave a comment.
